Happy Birthday Sigalith

GPM volunteers made a surprise Happy Birthday sign in Marathi (and chocolate cake) for the GPM coordinator, Sigalith.

Welcome new Gabriel Project Mumbai volunteers!

New volunteers arrive in Mumbai, posing in front of the neighborhood cows. Cows have a religious significance for our Hindu neighbors. These cows seem to know how to walk the streets without causing too much of a traffic jam!

Weekly Social Justice Course with Uri L'Zedek

Gabriel Project Mumbai is thrilled to announce that the vibrant Jewish social justice organization Uri L’tzedek will be an educational consultant on providing educational content for participants in our program. Uri L’tzedek will offer a weekly course for our program participants on the issues of social justice and global responsibility from a Jewish perspective.  We are excited for this great opportunity to share ideas, activities and a core vision with such a terrific organization.

Welcome to Gabriel Project Mumbai Blog! This is a platform for volunteers, staff and anyone associated with GPM to post their ideas, feelings and experiences in the slums of Mumbai and to share them with others. Here we are building a community of people who can share their thoughts and experiences with others who are interested in social justice and campaigning against illiteracy and hunger in India.
